or this group project, we were tasked with building an interactive digital solution that would fix a problem for a company, for that we collaborated with MonDrink, the 4th biggest B2B alcohol distributor in Switzerland. Their approach to business is keeping good relations with their current and potential clients, building trust with their high-quality products, fast delivery and prompt communication.

Even with their current success, they felt their website needed some improvements. During this project, we had to research, do interviews, design and implement a new website using WordPress.

My role in the project was pretty flexible due to issues popping up and me being able to fix it the fastest. I’ve built the majority of the wireframe and prototype, created assets, implemented small coded details and did the entire SEO.

Logo design

MonDrink showed interest in changing their logo, and for that, I’ve started brainstorming sketches. I came up with 5 concepts, discussed them with my teammates, and settled on idea nr. 5. With a final concept in hand I drew the final digital sketch in Paint Tool SAI (a digital illustration program), which I vectorized inAbobe Illustrator.

Illustrated assets

Since one of the highlights of MonDrink’s original website was the professional well-composed images of their products, we decided to use simple linework illustrations in certain sections of the pages. I ended up creating 3 assets: an image for the section leading to their about page, a picture for the 404 page and an asset to be used as a subtle pattern in the background of the Log-in page. I once again used Paint Tool SAI to create them.

Prototyping

To finalize our sketched design, we have built a wireframe and a hi-fi prototype in Figma. Using our own component library, we built the main page, product category page, the template product page, About page and log-on page. The prototype was built to mainly test the user’s ability to find the products they need, between the lo-fi and hi-fi stages there were minimal changes.
